#YouveBeenMakingTheWrongMistakes is based on a quote by jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, and characterizes Jennifer Abessira‘s works created in combination with eggs, given the fact that she doesn’t cook at all except for preparing eggs. Since she commutes between Paris (her hometown) and Tel Aviv (her place of residence), she often leaves eggs in the refrigerator. When she returns to Tel Aviv, they are no longer fresh for eating, so she uses them as a performative act of breaking eggs and creates photographs with them. The medium she uses includes pages from catalogs, magazines, books, postcards and more that sometimes create historical, cultural, or archaeological context.
