#PinkDifferentJen is the first hashtag Jennifer Abessira created, and it’s a parody of Steve Jobs’ “Think Different.” Abessira would often view art online, and the common denominator that remained in her mind was the color pink. She began covering areas she didn’t like in images she had with pink through her mobile phone, like a beautiful bandage. The covering and hiding were for her a means to treat and change the image as she wished. Over time, hiding the faces of figures in pink, adding a pink sun or a pink palm tree became her signature.
