Avner Levinson

A sculptor, draftsman, and painter, Levinson graduated from the New York Studio School. He exhibits in galleries in New York and at Zemack Gallery in Israel and is the owner and director of Maya Gallery and Atelier School for Sculpture, Drawing, and Painting in south Tel Aviv. His artistic work focuses on the human body, exploring the delicate balance between the physical and the abstract/spiritual. Levinson examines the gap between routine daily life and the aspiration for the sublime, working with various materials, primarily clay and paper pulp, which he casts into rigid materials like bronze or plaster.
