Liat Elbling

A graduate of the Minshar School of Art and recipient of the Constantine Photography Prize from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Elbling’s artistic practice revolves around thoughts on home and family. She creates spaces that often reference familiar places, early memories, or reinterpretations of photographs that inspire her. In recent years, she has primarily focused on creating small geometric environments using simple materials like paper, Styrofoam, and wood fragments, which she then photographs. Through these processes, Elbling challenges the basic assumptions of photography and pushes its boundaries, striving to think of photography in terms of material, and material in terms of time, aiming to disrupt conventional thought patterns and allow imagination to move freely within space.
