Miriam Cabessa

Working in Tel Aviv and New York, Cabessa is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ministry of Culture. She developed a unique artistic language called “Slow-Motion Action Painting,” where, instead of using a brush, she employs household tools and all parts of her body, with careful attention to movement and breath. She represented Israel at the Venice Biennale and has exhibited in leading museums worldwide, including the British Museum in London and the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington. Her works are part of important collections globally. Cabessa’s art explores relationships, the dialogue between sensing and knowing, and the encounter between the body and the sublime. The strength of her paintings lies in their ability to dissolve conventional distinctions between body and soul, personal and universal, and process and result.
