Naama Roth
Holding a Bachelor’s degree from Shenkar and a Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, Roth is also a recipient of the Adams Prize for Young Artist. The common thread in her works is the illusion of sight. Optical illusions, flickering, and reflections form part of her artistic vocabulary, reflecting the unstable nature of reality. She uses these elements to deconstruct cultural and architectural archetypes and examine their hidden meanings. In recent years, Roth has focused on screens as both space and material – by deconstructing and reassembling screens while incorporating traditional sculptural techniques such as clay and papier-mâché, she creates site-specific installations that respond to the physical-architectural and political-subtle aspects of the spaces in which they’re created.
