Tal Shochat

Living and creating in Tel Aviv, Shochat works in painting, photography, and video. A graduate of the Midrasha School of Art, she creates staged photographs that challenge the distinction between the natural and the artificial. In her works, she explores personal and political themes such as identity, femininity, Orientalism, family, migration, and displacement. She is a recipient of the Minister of Culture Award, and her works have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Israel and abroad.
