Golran, the carpet brand, started its way in Persia, the land of weaving and carpet arts. In 1968, it arrived in Milan and since then, the production takes place in Nepal. The brand identity is deriving from its elite skills, reliable manufacturing, and a passion for the arts – all come together in creating the brand value of trying to keep up with a contemporary dimension of design while maintaining traditional craft. The brand’s carpets are characterized by close attention to details while allowing crafters to be creative in their work and being inspired by the art and design world. The collections are versatile in style: Some reflect ancient traditions of weaving, some follow new-world leading designers and some drive inspiration from contemporary designers. For example: A collection under the Dutch designer Bertjan Pot corporates old techniques of weaving with a fresh take and colorful range; a patched style carpet that is created by sewing together pieces of vintage handmade carpets and dying them in a mini chromic color palate. Another example is an optical illusion collection, carpets that look different from any angle, by Raw Edges Studio, inspired by the artist Yaakov Agam,
