Jacopo Foggini
Jacopo Foggini, born in Turin in 1966, is an Italian designer and artist based in Milan. During his early career in the family business specializing in plastics, he discovered the creative potential of methacrylate, a thermoplastic resin widely used in the automotive industry. In the early 1990s, he began experimenting with this material, developing a unique technique to create illuminated shapes and monumental installations that blur the boundaries between art and design.
In 1997, Foggini held his first solo exhibition in designer Romeo Gigli’s space in Milan. Since then, he has showcased his works in over 60 galleries and showrooms worldwide. Among his most remarkable installations is Limbo, a pink cloud displayed at the Portico of the University of Milan, considered one of the most photographed and referenced contemporary artworks.
Foggini collaborates with leading design companies, including Edra, creating unique furniture and pieces that merge traditional craftsmanship with advanced industrial production. His works are distinguished by their interplay of light, color, and transparency, giving them an ethereal and mysterious quality.
