Jean Nouvel
Born in 1945 in Fumel, a village in south France. He studied in Ecole Nationale Supérieure des between the years 1966 to 1972. Novuel’s way to express his art is different than modernism and post-modernism, the facilities and products he planned are considered out of the box and his career awarded him a series of important prizes. In his work, he believes it’s important to plan buildings in a consideration of harmony with the environment. Each of his designs tell a different tale but he does have links that connect the collection, that’s his personal signature. All of his designs involve transparency, shade, and light, all affecting one another in different methods. In his words: “The research I conduct in my work is always about exploring the idea of specific, unique things. I don’t like repeating the same words or building with the same sense of architecture style all over the globe. I’m always seeking for reasons to do one thing in a specific place, something that is exclusive to the people or situation and I have all the reasons to do so. Light and material are the biggest questions of our times and they are the meaning of the universe.”
