Piero Lissoni
Born in Italy in 1956. Graduated from architecture school in the Politechnico di Milano at 1978. He designs for different fields and niches: Furniture of all kinds, lighting fixatures, image branding, event halls for super brands and prestige hotels worldwide. When asked about his work, Lissoni answered: “I’m from Milan, we design, it’s part of our tradition in our culture. Work for me is enjoyable, the only difficult thing is to make others excited about it.” He also said: “The real spirit of design comes from debating it, the feedback we get from the factory after designing. With it, the project is worthless. A designer without a factory can’t work. Just like me – without the factory support I would be a terrible designer.” And continued: “Some designers think they are Rock stars. But it’s a job, not a mission. Some thinks they are building their chapel and church of design – I don’t judge them, I just feels different than how I feel, it’s a different point of view, a different kind of communication.”
