Vincent Van Duysen
Vincent Van Duysen, one of the most recognized names in the design world, was born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium. He graduated in architecture from the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Between 1986 and 1989, he worked in Milan alongside Aldo Cibic and in Antwerp with Jean De Meulder before establishing his independent studio in 1990 in Antwerp, specializing in architecture and interior design.
Van Duysen’s work is characterized by a profound connection between interior design and architecture. His unique approach strives to achieve a perfect balance between functionality and beauty, focusing on proportions, natural materials, and a sense of tranquility. His designs exude purity and simplicity while maintaining a strong character and striking presence in any space.
Throughout his career, Van Duysen has received prestigious awards, including the Flemish Culture Prize for Design, Belgian Designer of the Year, and the Henry van de Velde Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2016, he was appointed Creative Director of the renowned Italian luxury brands Molteni&C and Dada. In this role, he designed flagship stores, exhibition spaces, and new collections, including the Gliss Master wardrobe system and the Ribbon bed. These creations embody his signature design language and the delicate balance between aesthetics and functionality.
